RAFW - Romance Was Born

Vouge Australia editor-in-chief Kirstie Clements (who I also met last night, amazing!) called this the show of the week.
And I agree. It was your grandma goes under the sea. The show started at 9am with a 3am call for the models. All of this intense hard work payed off and became this stunning, stunning show.
My favourite is definitely the Iced Vo-Vo (yes, the biscuit) knitted dress (7th shot down).

Grey Gardens

So I'm sure we all know that a remake of Grey Gardens has been made with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. I'm so excited to see it, although I have my reservations as I am such a fan of the original. Plus the fact that the original was a documentary makes me a little nervous. But reports say that it is quite fantastic and there were even standing ovations at the premier in New York recently.
Also as importantly, Drew looked amazing at the premier in Alberta Feretti, looking very old Hollywood with finger-waved hair and a veil. Jessica Lange also looked great (although not as good as Drew) in a grey J.Mendel.

I await this movie with baited breath.
In the meantime, if you haven't seen the original, I highly suggest you do. You will discover where many of modern fashion's trends originate.

Fashion Inside Out

My dear friend Daniel Vosovic has written a fabulous book called Fashion Inside Out.
It's is full of everything you could want to know about the fashion industry, from design to photo-shoots. I'm only half way through it myself and I have learnt many an invaluable gem of information. It even has interviews with legends like Dianne Von Furstenburg.

Take a look at it here...

America's Next Top Sartorialist?

So I am a self confessed Reality TV addict, and Americas Next Top Model always makes my list. Usually the girls are foul outside of being styled for the shoots. Well that was until this cycle introduced us to Celia Ammerman. She has such a fantastic personal style and was even featured on The Sartorialist (see first image). She also wears Prada pieces to judging panel. It's nice to find a girl who finally really understands and appreciates fashion in a show that is at most times, a little ridiculous.

(Also, I apologise for the long time that has elapsed between posts...)
